I believe it’s in my birthright to be a nomad. My ancestors would be proud, watching me wander about the world, soaking up memories and culture, enriching my life with new experiences.
California was my home. I was born and raised there, specifically on the Central Coast. My hometown is known for Strawberries and amazing BBQ, we even have our own seasoning. My heart will always be there, she is always in my mind- her beaches, forests and mountains.
When I was born, I was given the name Antwanicia. You can call me Nicia, (nee-shuh), it’s nice to meet you. I was given the nickname Brighteyes by a Ceramic Instructor that knew I saw the beauty and artistry in everything. That was when I realized my calling was to create, and that’s been my life’s mission ever since.
I’m an artist.
I’m also an empath, a wife, a fur mom, a bohemian and of course, a nomad. I’ve lived in a few houses since moving from California 3 years ago, but I have yet to find somewhere that feels like home.
I am unrooted.
This blog serves as my online gratitude journal, a love letter to all the things and places that have shaped me, molded me. It’s where I reflect on Mindfulness, Meditation, my new Yoga practice, my obsession with crystals and all the places this life takes me.
First it brought me here to Connecticut, we’ve lived here for 4 years. In a year and a half, we’ll see where we go!
I’m so happy you found me. I hope you stay awhile.
